I don’t know how to feel about watching wildlife in winter. I’m not even at the novice level, but I know that most birds are supposedly gone in winter and flew to the warmer parts of the world. It is true, however, that since all the trees shed their leaves, it’s so much easier to spot birds on branches. As a result, eagles can be easily spotted – and I really want to take a nice picture of an eagle. So, even though it was pretty cold out there, I tagged along my friend Ashley (who wanted to collect bugs) and her trustworthy sidekick Shaggydog into White Clay Creek. She found some larvae; I spotted no birds. Here are some pictures of rotten bark, just for evidence. This was before the crazy blizzard Jonas, so there was no snow yet. I’m sure the park doesn’t look like this right now.
