Philadelphia: The Original Federal Donuts

DSC02699

It’s funny how I have been a fan of Federal Donuts for years now, and only now it dawned on me that I hadn’t been to the original. I have to stop by this quaint little shop in a quiet neighborhood. This is beyond anyone’s imagination how it survived over the years and gain the name for itself now. It is also hard to find parking here – I can tell that this place is definitely catered for the people who lived around here. The original shop looks similar and is in the same style as the one in center city, which is pretty minimalist and give this woodish feel. Donuts are tasty (and probably more plentiful than the center city location), and fried chickens are probably equally impressive. Even though this is located on 2nd street, it is a street away from Federal street. I think I figured out where the name comes from.
