I was sending Nicolas and his wife off back to Taiwan, and we stopped by Ikea to waste some time and hide from the cold. The temperature has dropped to -10C since last night, and we can officially announced the arrival of winter. Meatballs seem to be able to warm us up a little. Ikea started out as a furniture store, but it is known for it’s food selection. The indigenous plan to feed their customer well so they would enjoy the tedious work of furniture shopping worked almost too well, and Ikea involuntarily became the ambassador of Swedish food. I would imagine these Swedish meatballs, with their iconic jam, is now their most popular item; the no.1 seller of the largest furniture retailer in the world is the meatball. Go figure.
